A new cohort of ambitious women founders ready to scale

We’re delighted to welcome the newest cohort of Female Founders, Creative Enterprise’s business support programme designed to help ambitious women build, scale and lead successful screen-based businesses.

Sponsored by the British Business Bank, Female Founders brings together founders from across film, television, games, immersive, createch and the wider screen sector for a programme of expert-led workshops, one-to-one coaching, mentoring and peer learning.

This year’s cohort represents an inspiring range of businesses, ideas and founders united by a shared ambition to grow sustainable companies and shape the future of the screen industries.

Over the coming months, participants will work alongside industry experts, mentors and fellow founders to strengthen their business strategy, explore funding and growth opportunities, develop their leadership skills and build lasting industry connections.

Please join us in congratulating the 2026 Female Founders cohort:

"Moment of Truth" examines how AI-generated pollution undermines our visual history and has been acquired by the Spanish streamer Caixa Forum Plus. Felicia Morizet - Blind Mice Film

Blind Mice Film was founded in 2023 to create people-led stories with purpose across campaigns, documentaries, podcasts, social content and original IP. Our motto, Your Story is Our Story, reflects our belief that the strongest work comes from genuine human connection. Today, we combine commissioned productions with original IP, extending stories beyond a single film into podcasts, YouTube, social content and communities. Our slate includes Hurt to Healing, Chalk & Cheese, an original food series, award-winning short films, a snow sports documentary and a live film exhibition. Their first documentary – The Corinthians: We Were The Champions – reveals the story of a rebel football team who defied The FA’s ban on women. Released in cinemas, it sparked an apology from The FA, was acquired by the BBC and is Longlisted for a Grierson Award. Nominated for a Smiley Charity Film Award for its work with Manchester Women’s Aid, the company won the Prolific North Challenger Brand Award 2026 for brands that "punch above their weight".

Jeanie Finlay & Suzanne Alizart - Glimmerama

GLIMMERAMA operates as the creative distribution arm of Finlay’s Nottingham-based production company Glimmer Films, building on two decades of experience producing internationally acclaimed documentaries and connecting with audiences in pioneering ways. Its recent project, The Net, was produced with backing from the British Council and the Film Development Council of the Philippines.

Premila Puri - Bombay Drizzle Studios

Be Kind Productions makes short films about the things that shape us — and puts them to work. Bullying. loneliness and bias. Disability. Migration and survival. Our films embrace real social issues, and they entertain too! Stories built to hold an audience, not lecture it. We're interested in what people do for each other when it costs them something — and in stories that leave you lighter than they found you, without pretending the world is easy. Our films have played at festivals across four continents and are used in UK classrooms to start conversations that last longer than the credits. We are now scaling into a studio called Bombay Drizzle Studios that places kindness at the heart of storytelling but for features, tv series and vertical dramas.

Shireenah Ingram - Red Lens

Red Lens is a creative learning development and production company that uses performance to develop people, stories and opportunities. We help actors, professionals and young people build confidence, communication and self-trust through rehearsal, storytelling and real-world creative experiences.

Trade Talks: Summer School for Screen Businesses Starts This August

Jul 14, 2026, 4:07:32 PM / by Ivana Karabova posted in Announcement, Creative Enterprise

This August, Creative Enterprise is launching Trade Talks: Summer School for Screen Businesses – a four-part online series designed to help screen creatives, producers and entrepreneurs strengthen the business skills needed to build sustainable careers and commercially successful projects.

Running weekly throughout August, the series will bring together members of the Creative Enterprise alumni community to share practical insights and real-world experience on some of the most important topics facing today's screen sector: audience development, intellectual property, financing, brand-building and fundraising.

Whether you're developing your first project, growing a production company, or looking to expand an existing body of work into a scalable IP strategy, these sessions will provide valuable guidance from professionals who have successfully navigated the challenges of building screen businesses.

Why Attend?

Building a successful screen career today requires more than creative talent alone. Understanding how to identify audiences, position IP, secure financing and develop long-term commercial strategies is increasingly essential for creatives and producers looking to thrive in a competitive and rapidly evolving industry.

Through this year's Summer School, participants will gain practical tools and actionable insights that can be applied directly to their projects and businesses.

The Programme

5 August: Building a Resilient Screen Career: Audience, IP and Commercial Strategy with Alex Stolz

This 60-minute online masterclass addresses a key challenge for early–mid career screen professionals: how to build commercial resilience in a project-dependent industry.

As funding tightens, platforms fragment and audience behaviour shifts, creative careers can no longer rely solely on moving from commission to commission. Resilience increasingly depends on developing clearer audience relationships, stronger IP positioning and a better understanding of where long-term value is being created.

The session introduces the Story Founder methodology: a practical framework for thinking about creative work through three lenses — Story, Audience and Ownership.

Register Here

____________

12 August: Packaging Meets Financing: A Producer's 60-Minute Toolkit with Neil Chordia

A practical one-hour Zoom masterclass for emerging indie film producers, writer-director-producers and early-career film founders on how to make a project feel more credible and financeable.

The session will look at how packaging and financing work together, covering what makes up a strong package (logline, genre, comps, audience, attachments, rights/IP, momentum and realistic talent targets), how to think about budget level, the main types of finance available to indie films, and how to explain a simple recoupment story without overcomplicating it.

The session will be advice-led and experience-led, with short examples, a simple packaging map, a basic finance snapshot, light Zoom interaction through chat/Q&A, and 20-25 minutes for attendee questions. The aim is for participants to leave with a clearer understanding of what financiers, sales agents and partners are looking for, and with practical next steps to strengthen their own projects.

Register Here

____________

19 August: From Idea to IP: Building a Screen Brand in a Multi-Platform World with Georgina Hurcombe MBE and George Caton Coult

Together, Georgina and George will deliver From Ideas to IP: Building a Screen Brand for a Multiplatform World, a 90 minute online session exploring how an original idea can evolve into a sustainable entertainment brand.

Using Pop Paper City as a real world case study, they will share the journey from concept to global distribution, covering pitching, financing, production, brand building, multiplatform thinking, licensing, publishing, education and emerging opportunities in digital and interactive media. The session combines practical advice with honest reflections on the challenges and opportunities of creating original intellectual property in today’s rapidly evolving creative industries.

This workshop is aimed at emerging and established creatives looking to develop original IP into commercially viable screen brands. It is particularly relevant for producers, writers, directors, animators, game developers, designers, entrepreneurs and creative founders, as well as those working across television, film, games and digital media.

Register Here

____________

26 August: How I Raised £550k from Friends, Family, Angels & Crowd with Gabriel Isserlis

A deep dive into processes & systems I've used to successfully raise £500,000 from friends, angels, and an oversubscribed crowd investment round. Starting with some tips, and then an open Q&A where you can ask me anything and I'll answer to the best of my ability.
