Blisstopia Productions is a Film & TV company from Brighton and Hove. Founder, Gareth Strachan, joined the Create South East programme for our fourth cohort of businesses in 2024. Since then, Gareth has pitched at our programme showcase to much acclaim, blowing everyone away with his gumption, and brainus aliens.
Blisstopia Productions was set up in 2020 by British-Canadian writer and producer, Gareth Strachan. Blisstopia has created and produced a variety of titles such as miRights(2020), Myalogue TV, and miBOTS (2021).
With a specialist focus on animation, comedy, drama and science fiction, we also produce a small amount of non-scripted work in development in terms of grass-roots documentaries and printed pop art and iconography.
How have they progressed?
In 2021, Blisstopia Productions joined PACT (Producers Alliance of Cinema & Television) and in 2022, celebrated a big win as their dystopian animation project ‘miBOTS’ received an industry judged development fund.
Growing with Create South East
Blisstopia Productions joined Create South East as they are now in a position to raise funds to complete on projects they’ve created through successful development funds and industry award wins.
“The Create South East course allowed me to take a necessary step back from the constant, often scatter-gun, hustle of running a small business. It gave us the time and space to develop a clear strategy and narrow down our focus in terms of the growth areas, shifting into the background some of the proposals with less potential. Working with our mentor gave us a welcome overview of the business as a whole and critical second opinion about our creative offerings.
