North East based drama-school ACT2CAM provides young people with a range of creative arts activities, including drama and film training, designed to build confidence as well as public speaking and social skills.
With years experience as a teacher, Steve joined the Create Growth Programme with an idea for an AI-powered app designed to help teachers develop students’ oracy skills. The app aims to support improvements in spoken language, effective communication, and active listening, ultimately enhancing lesson quality and creating better experiences for both teachers and students.

Support Received:
- ACT2CAM has received £50k Investment from the Culture and Creative Investment Programme after completing the North East Create Growth Programme, delivered by Creative UK.
- Exhibited at the Big Creative UK Investment Summit in London in February 2026 and the Create Growth Programme Summit in Leeds in March 2026.
- Investment will support the launch of new app, which will be launching in trial schools in September.
- Alongside the launch of the app, a member of staff has been enrolled in a Level 7 Apprenticeship in Data Analysis
